As the New York Giants wrap up a season with a 6-11 record, it's time to start thinking about the future. The team undoubtedly faced challenges this year, with numerous injuries and some underperforming players. It's clear that certain positions require a revamp, and that's precisely where the Giants' attention is now focused - the upcoming offseason.

One thing's for sure, there's going to be a lot of speculation about which positions should be the Giants' top priority this offseason. And while many areas could use reinforcements, the linebacker spots held by Bobby Okereke and Micah McFadden are one position group that may need minor additions, but not a complete overhaul.

Bobby Okereke is a name that's been on everyone's lips. After four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, Okereke joined the Giants last offseason and quickly proved his worth. He led the team with a whopping 149 tackles while starting every single one of the 17 games this season. Plus, he played 100% of the team's defensive snaps.

Even more impressive? This season, Okereke achieved a career-high in sacks, passes defended, and interceptions. He was just three tackles short of setting a new personal record in that area too. This is the second time in three seasons that Okereke has started all 17 games, missing just one start in that period. His performance and dependability suggest that Okereke could be the Giants' middle linebacker of the future.

Then there's the younger linebacker, Micah McFadden. Even in Okereke's shadow, McFadden has demonstrated his ability to play well, especially when paired with the seasoned Okereke. Despite not starting in three games, McFadden finished third on the team this season with 97 total tackles.

While it would be prudent for the Giants to consider boosting their roster across all positions, including linebacker, the Okereke-McFadden duo could be a winning combination for the Giants. With Okereke's consistent performance and the rising talent of McFadden, the team has a potentially strong foundation to build upon in the coming seasons.
